TFI TRAINS ADEKE WOMEN AND GIRLS ON LEADERSHIP SKILLS

Teenagers Care for Sustainable Development Initiative in partnership with Nigeria Women Trust Fund (NWTF) trained women and adolescent girls in Adeke community on leadership skills and inclusion for community impact, as part of activities for the Leading Change project. The training which kickstarted on 10th May, 2025 and lasted for 10 weeks (May – July, 2025), saw the training, mentoring and empowerment of 60 women and adolescent girls within the community.
The training lectures were administered by seasoned administrators and focused on 8 themes which are: Women and Leadership in Nigeria, Leadership Skills for Women, Women as Community Change Agents, Women and Successful family life, Understanding Adolescents, Challenges confronting Women Leadership, Dealing with Challenges of Women Leadership and Project Management.
Participants were taught how to truly become change agents and impact their community positively, how to champion change in their homes, how to cultivate positive relationship with adolescents and deal with challenges that confront their inclusion as women.
After the lecture series, participants were divided into 3 groups and mentors were appointed to mentor the groups to each conceive a project, plan and implement to promote change in their community.
Highlights of the training also included focus group discussions using real-life case scenarios as well as question and answer sessions
