ADEKE WOMEN SENSITIZE COMMUNITY MEMBERS ON SOCIAL ISSUES

In furtherance of the implementation of practical skills and knowledge gained during the leadership training organized for women and adolescent girls in Adeke community in line with Project Leading Change, a group of participants from the project took to the streets and market place in their community, to sensitize members of the community on social issues that affect community life and how they can be curb for a healthy society. This event took place on the 4th of August, 2025.
The women who were seen in their numbers and project branded T-shirts, carried several placards bearing inscriptions like ‘break the silence’, ‘see something say something’, and ‘I am priceless, I know my worth’. The women took turns to speak on issues such as teen pregnancy, gender-based violence and the importance of women inclusion in leadership. They urged women in the community to aspire for leadership positions and men to include women in decision-making process both in the home and community.
