January 2026 Monthly Mentorship for Young Minds

The Monthly Mentorship for Young Minds session was a deeply inspiring and life-shaping meeting centered on the theme “What Do You See?” drawn from Jeremiah 1:11–12, where God asked the prophet Jeremiah, “What do you see?” and affirmed the power of vision in shaping destiny.

Dr. Loture Idoko challenged the teenagers to look beyond their present circumstances and begin to see the future they desire. He emphasized that if a young person cannot see where they want to be in life, they may still be in the same place in the next ten years. He encouraged them to visualize themselves becoming professionals such as medical doctors, teachers, lawyers, engineers, and whatever noble career they desire.

He stressed that this year is not a year to merely “walk through,” but a year to intentionally see and pursue progress. In the school environment, he urged the students to ask themselves important questions: Where do I want to see myself academically? What areas of my life do I want to improve? Even for those who are currently struggling in their studies, he encouraged them to see themselves doing better and excelling. According to him, one’s present situation should not determine their vision nor discourage them from seeing a bright and successful future.

Dr. Idoko shared his personal story as a teenager, explaining how his family could barely afford good food and how he also faced intense peer pressure. Despite these challenges, he remained determined to see a brighter future for himself. He explained that seeing a better tomorrow often requires making tough decisions, including cutting off from negative friendships and staying away from harmful influences.

He concluded by urging the teenagers to make up their minds to be determined, focused, and intentional about their future. Most importantly, he called them to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ, emphasizing that only Jesus can truly guide them and make the journey of life easier and meaningful.

The session ended on a powerful spiritual note as about twenty (20) teenagers responded to the altar call and gave their lives to Jesus Christ. It was a moment of transformation, hope, and renewed vision, marking the beginning of a new chapter for many of the young minds in attendance.

50 teenagers where in attendance.
